Shanghai, June 16, 2003 -- SINA Corporation (Nasdaq: SINA), a leading Chinese online media company and value-added information service provider, today announced the appointment of Hurst Lin, formerly Executive Vice President of Global Business Development, as its Chief Operating Officer. Concurrently, Li-Cheng Chang, formerly Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing is appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.
Hurst Lin was a co-founder of SINANET, one of the two predecessor companies of SINA established in 1995. Prior to 2002, Hurst Lin was the Vice President of Business Development and General Manager of SINA North America Operations. He was heavily involved in the Company’s major corporate transactions and pre-IPO funding. In 2002, he was appointed Executive Vice President of Global Business Development overseeing global business development, merger and acquisition. Hurst Lin received a Bachelor of Engineering from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford University.
Li-Cheng Chang joined SINA in 2001 after close to 20 years of advertising and marketing experience mostly with Grey International in Asia. His last position at Grey was General Manager at Grey Taiwan. In 2002, he was appointed as Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing overseeing the advertising sales and marketing functions for the Company. Li-Cheng Chang received an MBA from the International Institute of the College Management of Taiwan University.
